Organization Committee

The purpose of the Organization Committee is to oversee the operation and composition of the Board. They determine and annually evaluate the effectiveness of the Board in meeting its goals and objectives and provide orientation of newly-elected board members.

Nominating Committee

The Nominating Committee oversees the nomination process of Alumni Board members and nominates alumni for election to the Ohio Wesleyan University Board of Trustees as “Alumni Association Trustees.

Alumni Recognition Committee

The Alumni Recognition Committee’s main purpose is to identify, nominate, research, and select honorees for the Distinguished Achievement Citation (“DAC”), Alumni Awards, Honorary Alumni status, Special Awards and Young Alumni Awards, and to assist the Alumni Office in publicizing and bestowing the awards. These awards are given during Alumni Weekend during the Celebrating Ohio Wesleyan ceremony.

Alumni Engagement Committee

The purpose of the Alumni Engagement Committee supports the Alumni Engagement Office, affinity organizations and volunteers. They assist in development and implementing programing that promotes opportunities for alumni to become more engaged with the University through regional networking and connection events. They also support the recruitment, training, and development of volunteers. 

Student/Young Alumni Relations Committee

The purpose of the Student/Alumni Engagement Committee is to enhance the student
experience and cultivate future alumni leadership. Activities may include the following:

  • Serve as a connection between the alumni and student community
  • Assist in the review, development, and implementation of programs to introduce current
    students to the alumni community
  • Recruit volunteers for student mentorship and career development
  • Conduct the nomination process of appointing a graduating class representative for
    appointment to the next fiscal year of the to the Board.

Advancement Committee

The purpose of the Advancement Committee shall be to collaborate with the University
Advancement Office to promote philanthropic giving to the University. Activities
may include the following:

  • Encouraging alumni and volunteers to give to the Ohio Wesleyan fund.
  • Fostering relationships and showing appreciation to current donors.
  • Identifying and cultivating relationships with potential donors.
  • Providing outreach and support to annual giving volunteers.
