Campus growth and career-readiness

Ohio Wesleyan recently transformed our Office of Career Services into the Career Connection. The center works to improve the career-readiness of all OWU graduates starting during their first year.

OWU is taking big steps toward an improved and enhanced living-learning environment. Renovations and new construction are underway to create a first-year student village and senior apartments.

Campus Living

Residential Renewal House of Black Culture La Casa & Creative Arts House

Senior Apartments

Ohio Wesleyan will build senior student apartments as part of the residential renewal plan. These apartments help create a smooth transition from college life to independent living.

Creative Arts House

The Creative Arts House is a new Small Living Unit that encourages the exploration of Art, Citizenship, and Individuality. The power of an Artist’s expression is a force like none other, and this SLU aims to challenge the perception of artists in the OWU community.

First-Year Student Village

Smith Hall is currently being renovated to create a First-Year Student Village which will enhance the living-learning environment of residential campus and support a smooth transition into college life.

La Casa

La Casa is a new Small Living Unit that brings together Latin American, Hispanic, and Latinx students to promote inclusivity within the OWU community and to encourage each other personally, culturally, socially, and academically.

House of Black Culture

Since 1971, HBC has served as a residential community for OWU's black students to host educational, cultural, and social activities unique to African Americans. Now, the house has finished renovations and is welcoming back residents.

Career Support, Travel Opportunities, and More

The transformation of the Office of Career Services into the Career Connection allows students more internship, networking, and career counseling opportunities.

The Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship Program recognized OWU in 2019 as one of the nation’s “Greatest Growth Institutions” for providing study-abroad opportunities. OWU provides these opportunities through The OWU Connection. Take an ecology class that travels to Utah. Write a Theory-to-Practice grant to study megaviruses in northern Iceland. You choose your path.

The Delaware Entrepreneurial Center OWU Career Connection Center The OWU Connection

The Delaware Entrepreneurial Center

Collaborating with the local Delaware community, the Delaware Entrepreneurial Center is a space wholly dedicated to encouraging business, innovation, and imagination between Delaware businesses and OWU students.

The OWU Connection-Get Real

Get real by designing your own academic experience. Put theory into practice by taking on an internship, volunteering abroad, or even applying for a Theory-to-Practice grant to conduct your own research.

The OWU Connection-Going Global

As a major feature of the OWU Connection, Travel-Learning Courses takes something you're already doing, learning in a classroom, and applying it to the real world, traveling to experience the subject first hand.

OWU Career Connection Center

Megan Ellis '05 was recently appointed as executive director of the OWU Career Connection Center, a new center focused on providing more internship, networking, and career counseling opportunities, and improve career-readiness for all OWU graduates.
