About the Application Process

You can begin at OWU either in August (fall semester) or January (spring semester). Apply to OWU using either the Transfer Common Application* or the OWU Online Application*. If you are unable to apply using the online options please email owuadmit@owu.edu.

*As of August 1, 2022, if you are interested in applying for Fall 2022 (classes begin August 24, 2022), you will need to apply using the OWU Online Application.

Application Deadlines

  • January 7 – Application deadline for spring semester
  • August 1  – Application deadline for fall semester

Required Materials

  • Application
  • Professor Evaluation
  • Confidential Transfer Report
  • Official college transcripts
  • Official high school transcripts
  • Essay or previously graded college writing sample.

As part of the application process, we will electronically request a Professor Evaluation and a Confidential Transfer Report. To complete those the following information is needed for the application:

  • Contact information (including email) for a current or prior professor
  • Contact information (including email) for current or prior Advisor/Dean of Students/Registrar

Transfer students must submit official final high school transcripts, and an official college transcript from any institution attended. If you are unsure how to order college transcripts, search “transcript order” on the institution’s website, or contact the Registrar’s Office at that institution for guidance.

An admission essay or previously graded college writing sample is required as part of the application. There will be an option to upload a document in the application, or the essay can be emailed to owuadmit@owu.edu.
