We embrace the liberal arts.

Every OWU student will explore and study in many disciplines. You'll develop a well-rounded education that will help you become a critical thinker, a problem solver, a creator.

And with The OWU Connection, you can take liberal arts to another level.

You have the opportunity to take interdisciplinary classes with professors from two different fields — like mathematics and biology, or art and medieval studies.

We also make it easier than many colleges to combine different fields of study and graduate with a more robust resume. Ohio Wesleyan offers more than 90 majors and some 60 minors, and you're able to combine them to create your ultimate educational experience.

In fact, more than one-fourth of OWU students graduate with at least two majors. That's one of the highest percentages in the country.

Interdisciplinary Classes

Some of the most exciting research and learning happen at the boundaries where two disciplines overlap. OWU faculty create and team-teach classes that combine music and computer science, math and biology, art and medieval studies.

Many students say these are some of their favorite — and most rewarding — classes.

Biology & Math in the U.S. Virgin Islands

Professors Amy Downing and Craig Jackson taught a class on island biology and mathematical modeling, and led the class in field work in the U.S. Virgin Islands.
