BWS 300 11 – Race, Ethnicity, and Health

The health status of minority groups is a function of their marginal position to the U.S. health care and a direct result of poverty and discrimination. Considerable differences in health status exist across racial and ethnic populations in the United States. Fundamental to this course is the recognition of race and ethnicity as primary social determinants of health. The goal is to explore the different social and behavioral factors that might underlie the association among race, ethnicity, and health status outcomes.
