Current students with authorization from their academic advisor may register for summer courses in Self-Service from 7 a.m. on April 11 to midnight on May 18. Late registrations will be considered until the end of the first day of classes. Once enrolled, the last day for change of schedule including dropping courses, adding courses, and changing credit-no-entry status is the third day of the Summer Session. Students cannot add courses, including independent studies, apprenticeships, etc., after the third day of Summer Session. For Exceptions to the policies outlined here, students can petition the Director of Summer Session. You can add or drop courses using the online change of schedule form provided by the Registrar’s office. Detailed instructions can be found here.
The normal course load for a summer session is a maximum of two units. Students may enroll in up to 2½ units of credit including laboratories and applied music. This 2½ unit course load includes regular courses (numbered 100-399), independent studies, directed readings, and apprenticeships/internships. Should students wish to exceed the 2½ credit limit they may petition the Director of Summer Session. Petitions for exceeding the 2½ credit maximum will be considered until the end of the first day of classes for the Summer Session.
Ohio Wesleyan uses the unit system of credit: each full unit is equivalent to 3.70 semester hours or 5.55 quarter hours. Applied music courses may be taken for 0.25, 0.5, or 1 unit.
Information regarding grades, requirements for degrees, and course descriptions is contained in the Ohio Wesleyan Catalog.
