Brass

Horn

1. One solo: a movement from a standard concerto (e.g. Mozart or Strauss) or a standard solo (e.g., Saint-Saëns, Morceau de Concert; Dukas, Villanelle).
2. Etude chosen from Belloli, Gallay (Op. 32, 43, 57), Kling, or Kopprasch.
3. Students will be asked to perform major and chromatic scales as well as demonstrate sight reading ability.

Trumpet

1. One etude and one solo:
   • Etude to be chosen from Brandt, 34 Studies (ed. Nagel or Vacchiano); Concone-Sawyer Lyrical Studies.
   • Solo to be chosen from State Solo list for Class A/Level 5 difficulty.
2. Students will be asked to perform major and chromatic scales as well as demonstrate sight reading ability.

Tenor Trombone

1. One etude and one solo:
   • Suggested etudes books: Bordogni-Rochut, Melodious Etudes for Trombone, Vol. 1; Tyrell, 40 Progressive Etudes for Trombone; Voxman, Selected Studies for Trombone.
   • Suggested solos: Guilmant, Morceau Symphonique; Barat, Andante et Allegro; David, Trombone Concertino. Please consult the OMEA Class A solo list for further suggestions.
2. Students will be asked to perform major and chromatic scales as well as demonstrate sight reading ability.

Bass Trombone

1. One etude and one solo:
   • Suggested etude books: Bordogni-Rochut, Melodious Etudes for Trombone, Vol. 1; Grigoriev-Hawes, 50 Etudes for Bass Trombone; Tyrell, 40 Advanced Studies for Bass/Tuba.
   • Suggested solos: Lieb, Concertino Basso; McCarty, Sonata for Bass Trombone; Lebedev, Concerto in One Movement. Please consult the OMEA Class A solo list for further suggestions.
2. Students will be asked to perform major and chromatic scales as well as demonstrate sight reading ability.

Euphonium/Tuba

1. Two contrasting works, one lyrical and one technical, from the standard solo repertoire:
   • Equivalent contrasting etudes may be substituted for the solos. (e.g., Blazevich, Bordogni/Rochut, Pederson, Snedecor, etc.)
2. Sight reading.
