The artist who created photography that connected environmental issues with the cultural interests of the various populations ranging from Africa to the United States."

"I went abroad in Spring 2020 through the CIEE Block Program. I was planning on spending 12 weeks in Shanghai, China, and 6 weeks in Madrid, Spain. Due to COVID I got to spend 4 weeks in Shanghai, China, and then 4 weeks in London, United Kingdom."

Favorite Global Scholars memory..."One of the last things we all did before the pandemic was have dinner at Old Dog Alehouse. It was nice to talk to people from my cohort who I hadn't seen much since the end of the Seminar freshman year."

"Traveling with Dr. Rowley to Iceland for my Theory to Practice Grant, which was originally drafted in my freshman Global Scholars Seminar."

"I enjoy nature and would love to learn more about it. I hope to travel to get fieldwork done with wildlife and the environment to arm myself with the tools necessary to understand sustainability and the unique challenges environments and animals face. To do this I hope to travel to specific environments such as Brazil for its rainforest, Africa for its savannah or Hawaii for its reefs."

Favorite Global Scholars memory..."The last day of class, when my whole cohort celebrated at Amato's. We made a promise to keep meeting up with each other despite having no classes."

Why did you choose to become a Global Scholar?

"I wished to expand my horizons both academically and culturally. When I interned in Bucerias, Mexico, I had the preparation to appreciate the Mexican culture appropriately."

Where do you see yourself after graduation?

"Cophenhagen, Denmark, or Dallas, Texas."

Why did you choose to become a Global Scholar?

"I joined because I wanted to learn how to think globally and learn how to operate in a global world, especially when I am doing research in the future with astronomers across the globe."

Where do you see yourself after graduation?

"I hope to be able to get into one of the PhD programs that I applied to."

"I first applied to Ohio Wesleyan in 2017, when the program was brand new. I was excited that the university was investing in interdisciplinary experiences that would encourage people from all academic fields to learn from international experiences, because I wanted to be able to discuss the world with people studying biology and economics and law, not just poly-sci and global languages. I was even more certain that the program was right for me when I said I would need to defer a year to study abroad after high school, and Dr. Baskes told me that made my application stronger, not weaker!"

Where do you see yourself after graduation?

"Outside somewhere, hopefully working near the intersection of agriculture and policy. I am currently applying for AmeriCorps positions."

"I wanted to learn how to apply my fields of study in a global context."
