Commencement Attire

Is there a certain color we are supposed to wear under our graduation gowns?

There are no required colors for your clothes under your gowns. We do recommend that you wear business casual outfits and shoes you feel comfortable walking in the grass with.

Is there a shoe restriction this year?

There is not a restriction for shoes, but we encourage students to wear shoes they are comfortable walking in the grass with.

What should I do about my cap/gown size if I am in between sizes?

Please contact the Campus Store for the best recommendation.

Where can I purchase my cap/gown?

Cap and gown can be purchased at the Campus Store or at Countdown to Commencement. Caps and Gowns cost $35. We recommend getting them as soon as you are able and then hanging them up to let the wrinkles fall. DO NOT IRON the material.

Commencement Participation

Do we need to apply for graduation?

Yes, you will need to apply for graduation through the registrar.

How many tickets are students given for the ceremony?

There is not a limit to guests this year unless the event is moved indoors for inclement weather. There will be live stream locations if the event has to move indoors.

What time is commencement set to begin?

Commencement is set to begin at 1pm. Students will tentatively have to line up around 11 a.m.

I’m going to graduate this semester but I don’t plan on walking. Do I have to go to the rehearsal or even the actual graduation ceremony?

No, you do not need to participate in the rehearsal or commencement activities if you do not intend to walk.

Can I participate in commencement if I incurred a balance on my bill during the semester?

Yes! Students that have a remaining balance can participate in commencement, but will not have their diplomas or final transcripts issued until the balance is paid.
