Ohio Wesleyan is undertaking a yearlong renovation of Slocum Hall beginning in July 2021. The $11.25 million, donor-funded project will include adding modern amenities to the 123-year-old building.

An Exciting New Chapter

The renovation is supported by gifts including a $10 million contribution made by an alumni couple who wishes to remain anonymous. The gift is the largest single outright contribution received in Ohio Wesleyan history.

When it reopens, Slocum Hall will be the home for offices overseeing the OWU Connection, including the Career Connection. Students will come to Slocum for assistance with all aspects of the OWU Connection, including travel, research, and internship opportunities, as well as career-readiness skills.

Slocum also will house the Offices of Admission and Financial Aid, designated space for Ohio Wesleyan’s Honors and Scholars programs, and the iconic Reading Room.
