Registering Responsible Event training is required for any student organization in Good Standing with the Student Involvement Office, that wishes to host an event with alcohol on campus. OWU's policy on Alcohol and Other Drugs in the Student Handbook provides a full explanation of event requirements and options; however this policy can be overwhelming.

In order to host an on campus event with alcohol, organizations in Good Standing must follow these steps:

  1. Register the Event on Engage (formerly Orgsync) no later than 7 business days prior to the event.
  2. Meet with Dina Daltorio, Assistant Director of Student Involvement in the Student Involvement Office to review the Alcohol and Other Drug Policy and discuss the event details.
  3. Work with Public Safety to hire the appropriate amount of officers to be on duty at their event, and request any materials needed (i.e. wrist bands).
  4. Receive confirmation of Event Approval through Engage (formerly Orgsync).
