Information Services provides support to faculty in identifying and applying technologies to enhance the student learning experience.
We also assist in identifying potential solutions to help faculty achieve their instructional and administrative goals. Whether it’s using:
- Blackboard, our online learning management system
- Blogging platforms such as Blogger and WordPress
- Wikis, editable Web pages
- BishopApps, online collaboration and communication
- Portable Document Format (PDF) to accept electronic submission of assignments
- Presentation tools, such as PowerPoint, Keynote, Prezi.com, or Google Presentations
- Classroom technologies, such as smart boards and clickers
- Social media and Web 2.0 tools such as Facebook, Flickr, YouTube, or Twitter
- Mobile devices, such as netbook computers, tablets, or
smart phones

Individual Consultation
Individual consultations and one-on-one coaching sessions.
Course technology audits
Having the Instructional Technologist sit in on a few classes to observe the instructor's use of technology can be very rewarding. This gives us the opportunity to make recommendations based on specific teaching styles and appropriate for a particular course.
User Support Groups
Hosting informal lunch & learn discussions and other other user support groups. Such opportunities are announced directly to our faculty.
Involvement in the ongoing life of the faculty
Participation in instructional support forums and other events promotes informal conversations where new ideas may emerge. This includes a visible presence during new faculty orientation.
