Areena has worked as a Senior Sub-Editor at InMobi Glance in Bengaluru, India (a media start up), at a local Idaho newspaper, and Thomson Reuters the past four years.  Her bylines have appeared in U.S. News and World Report, and The Seattle Times, among others. She has covered an Edward Snowden talk, interviewed a Grammy Award winner, and written investigative stories. She is headed to NYC to study at the Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism.

During her time at OWU, Areena was a Journalism major and involved with The Transcript, Sangam club, Model U.N., IOCP office, Meek Mentorship, and Horizons International.
