The Bishop Launch Program

Now in its 5th year, the Bishop Launch Program (BLP) helps students become confident, competent, and competitive internship and job seekers. A semester-long program offered only during the fall term, BLP targets Sophomores & Juniors, helps them in their internship/job search process, and gives them the tools to successfully launch into their careers post OWU.

Why Participate? 

In addition to intensive support from Career Connection, each participant will be partnered with a specific career coach and receive further 1:1 support. BLP offers workshops focused on personal & professional development, intensive assistance on resume and interview skills, and an opportunity to engage with employers. Upon the successful completion of BLP, students receive an OWU padfolio and a $200 award to purchase professional attire!

Requirements for Completion 

• Attend a virtual Bishop Launch Information Session in August
• Participate in the two required Bishop Launch Workshops (offered virtually & in-person)
• Attend the virtual Bishop Launch Kickoff Event to learn about Power Skills and meet with employers & Alumni in small break-out groups
• Come to a Career Fair or an Employer Engagement event 
• Choose your own Career Workshop (e.g. Get LinkedIn, Virtual Interviewing) 
• Meet at least two times with your designated Career Coach (virtually or in-person) over the course of the semester and complete a Recorded Mock Interview and a Resume that gets approved.
