Retention Rates

Ohio Wesleyan University welcomes each fall semester a new group of students starting their first full-time college experience seeking a degree. These are our first-time full-time students. In the subsequent fall semester one year later, we determine the percent of these students who have returned. Over the past five years, an average of 79% of first-time full-time students have returned to OWU for their second year. This is our retention rate.

Graduation Rates

Ohio Wesleyan also measures the percent of students starting their first full-time college experience who graduate in four years and in six years. Over the past five years, an average of 58% of OWU first-time full-time students have graduated in 4 years, and 67% of first-time full-time students have graduated in 6 years.

Student Destinations

Ohio Wesleyan University annually collects information from graduates about their career plans following graduation. Over the past five years, an average of 94% of graduates who respond to the survey report they are either employed or on their way to graduate school. Licensure Pass Rate

Education majors take a series of examinations, including the Ohio Assessment for Educators (OAE) Assessment of Professional Knowledge. It is important to note that not all program completers take the OAE exam.
